Andrea Petsche supports students and families in a variety of different subjects, projects and individual needs throughout the family journey.
Support is provided to parents in finding an appropriate educational environment for their child, parenting skills and general child development topics and information.
Andrea provides a solid basis in child development, parenting and school related issues so that parents can fully understand, value and respond to their child’s changing and growing needs.
Prior to each consultation, a complimentary, introductory phone-call is offered to help evaluate individual needs and appropriate services
Session Options
- Individual in-person consultations are 50 minutes, unless otherwise agreed
- Half sessions are 25 minutes and only available to current clients
- Consultations are also available by phone, Skype, FaceTime and typically 50 minutes
- In-person consultations take place at client home, client office at Andrea’s home office or at a mutually-agreed upon location. Andrea is physically present in San Diego every week and Los Angeles by phone/Face Time.
Consultation
A regular consultation is for families who are seeking support in parenting and for school relationship issues, child-development questions (one time/several time sessions) and for those needing Preschool-Kindergarten admission guidance. The starting point for consultation will depend on where a parent is on his/her individual journey in reference to their child and their future. Andrea designs her consultation to assess a parent’s needs and provide support with feedback and plans for continued progress.
Admission Support for Consultation
Andrea uses her knowledge in child development to gather information about student needs, current situation, desires for the future and parent values to best support the overall family system to support future goals. Consultations can include different reinforcements if desired or needed to help complete the overall portfolio of the child/family for a more thorough consultative relationship for example:
- Provide, Review and Discuss Family Questionnaire
- Review of School/IEP/Gifted Assessments or School Records
- Provide Consultant Readiness/ Observation and Narrative Evaluation
- Host Parent-Teacher-Consultant Conference with Early Childhood Personnel
- Discussion about School Options, Philosophies, Recommendations
